Dog Ramps for Beds & Couches

If your dog is launching themselves off the couch a dozen times a day, their joints and spine are absorbing every one of those landings. A dog ramp for the bed or couch turns that jarring jump into a gentle walk – and for long-backed breeds, senior dogs, and anyone recovering from surgery, it's one of the simplest changes you can make at home.

Find the Right Dog Ramp for Your Bed or Couch Height

The single most important thing is height. Measure from the floor to the top of your mattress or couch cushion, then pick a ramp whose adjustable range covers that measurement. Most Australian couches sit around 40–45cm, while beds usually land between 55cm and 65cm – which is why our adjustable ramps are the safest bet if you want one ramp to do both jobs.

The second thing is angle. A ramp that's too steep becomes a climb your dog will refuse. As a rule of thumb, longer ramps give a gentler slope at the same height, so if your bed is high, go longer rather than steeper.

Timber Dog Ramps for Couches and Beds

Solid timber ramps with anti-slip carpet are the go-to for indoor use. They look like furniture rather than pet equipment, they're stable underfoot, and they fold flat to slide under the bed when they're not needed. Our adjustable timber ramps suit small and medium dogs, with height settings from 30cm right up to 60cm.

Dog Ramps for Dachshunds and Small Breeds

Dachshunds, corgis, French bulldogs and other long or short-legged breeds carry a real risk of spinal injury from repeated jumping. IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) is common enough in dachshunds that vets routinely recommend ramps as everyday prevention, not just post-injury rehab. Look for a wide platform, a low starting height, and carpet rather than bare timber so small paws get proper grip.

Heavy Duty and Telescopic Dog Ramps for Bigger Dogs

Got a labrador, a kelpie, or an ageing shepherd? Aluminium and telescopic ramps carry far more weight, extend longer for a gentler gradient, and handle the car boot as well as the bed. They're the practical choice if one ramp needs to work everywhere.
