Wall Mounted Pressure Washer Garage Setup Guide: How to Build the Ultimate Detailing Bay

Wall Mounted Pressure Washer Garage Setup Guide: How to Build the Ultimate Detailing Bay

A wall-mounted pressure washer setup puts your washer, hose reel, car dryer and vacuum permanently on the wall, plumbed in and ready to go. Setup drops from ten minutes to ten seconds — pull the hose, wash, retract. To build one you need a wall-mountable washer, a mount and hose reel, a wall close to water and power, and enough hose to reach right around the car.

There's a moment every car enthusiast hits. You're sick of dragging the pressure washer out of the corner, untangling the hose and tripping over the cord before you've even started. This guide walks through building a setup you'll actually enjoy using.

Why a Wall Mounted Pressure Washer Is the Best Garage Detailing Upgrade

It's about workflow. When everything lives on the wall, there's nothing to set up and nothing to pack away — no coiling hoses on the floor, no dragging heavy units around, no tripping hazards. And a setup that's ready in seconds gets used far more often than one that takes effort.

For professional detailers the time saving compounds. Save five minutes of setup and pack-down per car, and across a ten-car day that's close to an hour back.

Choosing the Right Wall Mounted Pressure Washer

Not every pressure washer can be wall-mounted, and not every wall-mountable unit is built for detailing.

Wall Mountable Pressure Washers for Car Detailing

Look for a unit designed for wall mounting with purpose-built brackets, not something jury-rigged onto shelf brackets. It also needs to be tuned for automotive use. The bigboi WashR PRO MKII, WashR DUO and WashR QUAD are all designed to wall-mount with bigboi's mounting systems.

Induction Motors for Permanent Installation

For a unit you'll use several times a week, an induction motor matters — it runs cooler, quieter and lasts much longer than a brushed motor. The WashR PRO MKII delivers 1,450 PSI at 9.2 LPM and the DUO 1,350 PSI at 7.7 LPM, both with induction motors at around 80 dB.

bigboi WashR PRO MKII — built to live on the wall

Designed from the start for permanent installation: 1,450 PSI at 9.2 LPM, a serviceable Italian triplex brass pump, and compatibility with both the fixed mount and the 2-in-1 mount. At 28 kg it's exactly the kind of machine you want on the wall rather than on the floor.

Planning Your Wall Mounted Garage Detailing Setup

Choosing the Right Wall

Pick the wall with the shortest run to your water source and power outlet — less inlet hose means better flow. Make sure it can take the weight: a mounted WashR PRO MKII is 28 kg before the mount and hose reel. Brick and concrete block are ideal. On timber-framed walls, fix into the studs, never just the plasterboard.

Layout: Where to Mount Each Piece of Equipment

  • Pressure washer and hose reel: at waist height for comfortable hose pulling, positioned so the hose reaches every part of your wash area.
  • Car dryer: next to the pressure washer, so you go from washing to drying without crossing the garage.
  • Vacuum: nearby, or on the opposite wall if the hose is long enough.
  • Water filtration: between the water supply and the pressure washer, with the bypass valve easy to reach.

Mount it beside the washer

bigboi BlowR PRO+ MKII — twin motors, 9m hose, wireless remote

Twin 1,600 W motors at up to 450 km/h, heated filtered air, a 9 m hose and a wireless remote so you can change speed without walking back to the unit. Wall-mounts alongside the washer for a wash-to-dry workflow that never leaves the bay.

Hose Length and Reach Planning

Measure the furthest point the hose needs to reach — including all the way around the vehicle. A 13 m hose covers most single-car garages and driveways. For bigger setups, bigboi offers 20 m and 30 m commercial hoses for the PRO and DUO. Add a few metres to your estimate; a hose that only just reaches is frustrating to use.

Wall Mount Options for bigboi Pressure Washers

Fixed Wall Mount with Hose Reel

The simplest option — a permanent bracket with an integrated hose reel. Compatible with the WashR QUAD, DUO and PRO. The right choice for most home setups where the washer never leaves the wall.

2-in-1 Wall Mount and Wheelbase

For flexibility, the 2-in-1 gives you a wall bracket and a portable wheelbase. Use it on the wall day to day, then lift it off and roll it away when you need to. Compatible with the WashR PRO MKII and DUO.

Both mounts, plus hoses and reels, are in bigboi accessories.

Tips for Your Installation

  • Put power at the wall: have an electrician install an outlet near your mount point. An extension lead across the garage undoes the point of a clean permanent setup.
  • Plumb in water if you can: a dedicated tap at the wall beats running a garden hose every time.
  • Label your hose connections: if you're running a washer, filter and garden hose, label them so you don't cross them.
  • Leave room to grow: setups expand. Leave wall space for chemicals, accessories and future gear.
  • Light it properly: good LED lighting along the wash bay makes a real difference to your results.
